Yoga and Meditation retreat in France

20th- 23rd April 2018

Ulle and Amelia are holding a nourishing long weekend of yoga and Meditation. This retreat is a private special space, so please think of it as your own home for the duration of your stay.

We will start the day with an energising 75min Power Yoga session followed by a hearty breakfast. There will be free time during the day to relax by the open fire, read a book, go wild swimming or explore the stunning countryside walks surrounding the Mill.  We’ll all get together for a vegetarian lunch and meet again for a 90min evening Hatha yoga class incorporating pranayama and savasana. There will be an evening meal with time afterwards to settle and get cosy for bed with an optional evening mindfulness & meditation practice. The sessions will be a blend that may include music, periods of silence, mantras, breathing techniques and guided savasana to enhance relaxation.

Mix in stunning countryside walks, 6 yoga and meditation classes, beautiful accommodation, visit to the nearby village, open fires and inspiring homemade organic veggie meals, this weekend is for sure going to be a special experience.

Catering

We have a team of extremely high quality and versatile cooks. With stunning plated food only using mostly organic ingredients. The chefs are very creative and flexible and will cater for most individual dietary requirements, from vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, wheat free and various allergies.

About the Mill

Set in 30 acres of stunning countryside, this retreat has the perfect location for walks and wildlife spotting. These include a 10 acre lake and over a mile of riverbanks. The grounds of the Mill are a paradise for a huge variety of creatures from wild boar and deer to water mammals such as otters and swans, and over 40 species of birds. In 2008, 5 acres of the grounds were dedicated as a nature reserve, helping to ensure the continued survival and protection of many local species.

Accommodation

The Mill really is 'home away from home', a place to be totally at ease in and drop into a slower and often more appealing pace of life. There are 22 Bedrooms. All beds are made up with Egyptian cotton sheets, feather and down pillows (hyper-allergenic options) and lovely thick 100% wool blankets or thick warm Duvets.

Things to do

During the stay there will be an option to visit the nearby city of Amiens home of the spectacular Norte Dame cathedral of Amiens, note that this is a different Notre Dame to the famous one in Paris, never the less it is still one of the largest and most beautiful cathedrals in France. Click on the link for more information about Amiens. This can be decided on the day if you would like to go and there will be an additional cost to cover the transportation. The area around the retreat is great for walking and cycling (some bicycles are available free of charge). The charming local medieval town named Aumale is just a few miles away, Aumale is easy to walk or bike to and they have a little local supermarket with restricted opening hours. If you feel brave, you can also swim in the lake. Or simply drink tea / coffee as you soak up the beautiful surroundings of the nature reserve.
